The design of Bellamer’s heavy concrete breakwaters is based on a strengthened concrete pontoon
equipped with roll-resisting keels. The specially designed profile considerably reduces the energy of a
storm wave.
Heavy concrete breakwaters are utilized for the protection of the water areas of marinas from the
destructive influence of waves on moorings, boats and the coast line. They can also function as floating
moorings increasing the amount of available berths.
Concrete breakwaters are reliable under any weather conditions in areas where seas do not exceed 1.5 m.
While in service they do not demand special attention or care and are designed for long, trouble-free life.
Breakwaters are secured in place with chains, piles or elastic mooring systems (“Supflex” or “Seaflex”).
The pontoons are joined together with flexible high-strength steel connectors.
All heavy pontoons are equipped with oversize service channels for the running of electrical and water
supply lines.
For the safe mooring of vessels, pontoons are equipped with massive fenders of Siberian larch. At the
customer’s request, pontoons can be equipped with a larch or a Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) profile
deck.
